The idea is pretty interesting and could work as the mainstream for a game if done right. However, as you are in the prototype phase, we would suggest you think of more puzzles and brainstorm different ideas before making a full-fledged game with this mechanic. This game and the idea have the full possibility to become a good hyper casual game ahead.
